FBOTU’s Weekly Comics Load

Enough with all the preludes and lead-ups to the big events! Let’s get there already! I’m losing my patience. Or, in the words of Carrie Fisher, “Instant gratification takes too long.” But the anticipation continues, and here are the titles I’ve been reading this week. Feel free to share your own in the Comics Forum. Warning! SPOILERS aplenty!

Oracle “The Cure” #2: Check out the cover art for this issue. 1.) Why is Kimber Benton on the cover of Oracle? Doesn’t it look like she’s about to spray the camera with seltzer? And 2.) You can see right down her shirt! Despite that, I’m really enjoying this book. We usually only ever see Barbara Gordon sitting at her computer or showering, so it’s fabulous to see her kicking some ass again! And in Hong Kong! Crawling through the mud to beat some guy’s face in was a special treat. In terms of the plot, I’m sure this will all lead back to Gotham somehow, since it’s part of the Battle for the Cowl series, but for now, it’s hard to believe anyone, even a bereaved supervillain father, would go to so much trouble to save Wendy. You know, from “Marvin and Wendy?” I think most people would just pull that plug and walk away. But maybe she’ll become Barbara’s nemesis after all this. Wendy…the supervillain!
