Wednesday Morning Brain Damage

By Chance

June 11, 2008 at 10:30AM EDT

As further proof that my brain was badly damaged in the 80s, I woke up this morning humming the theme to the Pac-Man cartoon. How or why this happened, I don’t know. But I assume it will now drive me crazy for the rest of the day. So I won’t be alone in my 80s cartoon madness, here’s the intro for your enjoyment and insanity!

I watched the Pac Man show on occassion as a kid, but I dont remember the theme.
Not gonna listen to the clip cos it might push Pork and Beans out of my head and I’d sooner have that buzzing round my head right now LOL

Menudo?!?  Can you picture little Ricky Martin shaking his bon-bon to a song about a multi-colored box with a little man on it?  Yes, I think you can.

There’s nothing wrong with a little Mexican mouse that always beats the lazy cats.  “Yepa!  Yepa!  Andale!  Andale!”

I believe so. If they don’t count Speedy Gonzalez. And I’m pretty sure they don’t.

I’ve wanted to be Mesmeron for Halloween for years!

And was Rubik the first cartoon to have a latino lead character?

OK, I’m totally dating myself by saying this, but I do remember the Pac-Man theme.  I do hum it on occassion, but if I am not mistaken, the ending theme is a bit faster and it doesn’t have that bald Gargamel voice-over.

And yes, I remember the Rubik’s cube cartoon.  I used to think he was cool.  Now I realize it was just a giant commercial for the toy.  I remember him saying at the beginning, “My name is Ruuubik!”  Isn’t he pretty much what Orko would look like without a hat.
