How have comic book superhero tights, capes and freakshows influenced fashion? If you are in New York or planning to go to New York, be sure to check out this exhibit at the Metropolitan Museum of Art.

Featuring movie costumes, avant-garde haute couture and high-performance sportswear, the exhibit reveals how the superhero serves as the ultimate metaphor for fashion and its ability to empower and transform the human body. Objects are organized thematically around particular superheroes, whose movie costumes and superpowers fuel discussion on comic books and fashion. If you go, please give us a report!

Yeah, someone please go and give us the low-down.  I’m curious as to whether any MOTU/PoP inspired fashions will be featured in this! 

And I’m hoping there’s a superhero briefs category. smile
