Quote of the Week: Someone Call the Mayor! Now!

By Chance

Did everyone get a chance to see Kick-Ass over the weekend? Apparently, more people are interested in training dragons than kicking asses, since it only managed to come in at #2 at the box office. Still, not bad for an R-rated movie based on a comic book. I enjoyed it immensely, especially the comic geek chatter throughout the movie. I also have a brand new crush on Aaron Johnson, but it’s undoubtedly Chloe Moretz who steals the show as Hit Girl. Even Long-Suffering Boyfriend was impressed, commenting that “They should get her to play Hermione.” I reminded him that role was taken. “Yeah. They should get this girl instead.” While we try to imagine Hit Girl attending Hogwarts, let’s reveal our Quote of the Week:

Dave Lizewski: How do I get a hold of you?
Hit Girl: You just contact the mayor’s office. He has a special signal he shines in the sky; it’s in the shape of a giant cock.

Actually, the estimates were off.  When the final tally came in, “Kick-Ass” made $19.8 million while “Dragon” made 19.6 million.  The budget was also only in the $30 million range, so it should be a bonafide hit by next week.  I may go see it again.

I think there are fewer great entrances than an 11-year-old killing machine saying “OK, you c**ts, let’s see what you can do.”
