Quote of the Week: Shmeezus!

By Chance

August 10, 2010 at 12:30AM EDT

I have been woefully neglectful in covering the new season of Futurama. While I think it’s been a little hit or miss so far, I can’t deny that something has made me laugh in each and every episode. I think I’ll withhold final judgement on the resurrection of the beloved series until the end of the season. Until then, I’m pleased to give it a little shout out along the way. If you didn’t catch last week’s episode, perpetual grad student Amy is finally on the brink of graduating, but her plan to harness the Earth’s rotational energy is conscripted by a bunch of evil alien cats. Naturally. In the midst of Earth’s demise at the hands of science, the Professor offers her a bit of comfort:

“Amy, technology isn’t intrinsically good or evil. It’s how it’s used. Like the death ray.”
-Professor Farnsworth, “That Darn Katz!”

So true. I can think of many, many non-evil uses for the death ray. Let’s think about that while we roll the clip:
