Can you believe South Park is about to start its 14th season? And the 200th episode will air in April? Is it possible there was ever a time before South Park, a wholesome, innocent time when the worst kid on TV was Bart Simpson? Comedy Central has been running promos for the new season non-stop, and since I watch a lot of Comedy Central and am highly susceptible to advertising, I thought I’d feature a little blast from South Park‘s past for this week’s Quote of the Week. Take it away, Mr. Garrison!
“Stanley, gay people…well…gay people are evil. Evil right down to their cold, black hearts, which pump not blood like yours and mine, but rather a thick, vomitous oil that oozes through their rotten veins and clots in their pea-sized brains which becomes the cause of their Nazi-esque patterns of violent behavior. Do you understand?”
-Mr. Garrison, “Big Gay Al’s Big Gay Boat Ride,” South Park
Oh, Mr. Garrison. Whenever a closeted, anti-gay politician is outed for cruising airport bathrooms or driving drunkenly away from picking up a trick at a bar, I think of you. You can watch the whole episode of “Big Gay Al’s Big Gay Boat Ride” here.
The new season of South Park premieres Wednesday, March 17 at 10/9c on Comedy Central.
Ha-ha! I love that quote. I wanted to add it to my signature, but I thought it was too long. This line alone is one of the reasons why I continued to watch the show. To me, it completely satirized the whole “self-loathing” gay man while also saying what some homophobes may be feeling, but don’t always say. We all know people like them. What’s funnier is that Mr. Garrison, at this point, isn’t even out yet to himself!
