I’ve talked about Drunk History before. It’s the web series on Funny or Die, featuring various history buffs relating important historical events while completely drunk. It’s irresponsible and dangerous and funny as hell. My favorite features the story of Oni Judge, as told by Jen Kirkman. But for our Quote of the Week, I’m using the most recent one I happened to watch. From the tragic and drunken tale of inventor Nikola Tesla comes this incoherent, but strangely profound summary from actor Duncan Trussell:
“He (Tesla) was 84, and he died in a hotel, completely broke and alone. In love with a pigeon. This is a nightmare. I’m in hell. This is hell. I’m talking about Tesla in my puke. Tesla was the electric Jesus. I can’t breathe.”
-Duncan Trussell, Drunk History Vol. 6
Wow. Just wow. I’m not condoning drinking to excess (and it’s entirely possible it’s all a big joke and no one is really drunk), but I just had to share this little bit of wisdom to get your week started. You can watch the entire episode below. Enjoy!
