I’ve had some anger management issues lately. Most recently, I had a fight with the host of a pub trivia night and stormed out of the bar. (His ignorance of pop culture cost my team the win. Can you blame me?) Anyway, I’m a little on edge at the moment, so I found it more than cathartic when I was reading this month’s issue of Wonder Woman out loud (like I do) and came upon this prolonged battle cry by everyone’s favorite gay manazon, Achilles:
“Cursed serpent! Ill-begotten spawn of a hydra’s backside! Achilles sends you back to the aperture of your god-bespittled birth! Die. Die. Die! Aarghhh! Die by the hand of Achilles, bastard son of nothing!”
-Achilles, Wonder Woman #43
I wish I had this as a snappy comeback the other night during my fight. How could any foe withstand that barrage of threats and insults? I’ve promised to work on my rage, so I shouldn’t technically ever need to use this in a practical application. But I’m going to memorize it anyway…just in case.

It is a great scene. Although I would have thought Achilles would like a big snake…
