Greg Brady and Tiffany vs. Mega Piranha

By Chance

Well, well, well. Little Miss Mall Queen just couldn’t stand that Deborah was getting all the critically-acclaimed roles in giant fish movies. Guess what, Tiff? You’ll always be second-best to Debs, not only because she writes her own songs, but because sharks are scarier than piranhas.

Okay, I’ll watch it. But I won’t like it. Mega Piranha is current airing on SyFy. Check local listings for times.

We have giant sea creatures (which often leap out of the water to eat things), a wise older dude, the young hunk, and the ‘80s pop tart playing the voice of reason. Even though it’s by the same studio that did “Mega Shark vs. Giant Octopus,” yes, it’s still a rip-off.

And I loved the first movie so much that I’m so watching this.

You know, I remember when I saw the trailer for Mega Shark vs. Giant Octopus.  It looked dumb as hell but like it could also be fun.  It was one of the worst wastes of time I’ve ever encountered, a failure on every single level that didn’t involve crude CGI sharks attacking planes.  This looks like the same thing.  What’s the phrase?  “Fool me once, shame on you.  Fool me twice, shame on me.”

Then again, I have long held an unabashed crush on Paul Logan.  I am conflicted.
