20 Fanboy Questions with Frank
Boxers, briefs or commando?
Most of the time, briefs. (I like the support.) If Im wearing shorts, then I’ll go commando to enjoy the fresh air.
DC or Marvel?
Marvel. My grandfather owned a deli on the east coast and sold comics. So, as a kid, he always gave me comics. Most of them were Marvel, so that’s where the love began.
Last movie you stood in line to see?
Last movie I stood in line for was The Town. It was better than I expected. I’m really looking forward to seeing Tron. I already bought my tickets.
Video game you’ve spent the most hours playing?
I play a lot of games with my friends, like Halo, Call of Duty and WoW, but the Mario Bros. will always be my favorite.
Most played song on your iPod?
Red Hot Chili Peppers’ Californication album. I can listen to it over and over and never get tired of it.
Movie line you quote the most?
“The saddest thing in life is wasted talent.” -A Bronx Tale
Wolverine famously said: “I’m the best there is at what I do. But what I do best isn’t very nice.” What are you best at?
I think I’m a really good listener. Plus, I’m pretty good on a motorcycle. Wanna go for a ride?
Favorite geek-out activity?
Probably spending a whole weekend playing online games with friends. When people ask, “What did you do this weekend?” I just say, “Spent some time with friends.”
If you could have a complete collection of any toy line in history, what would it be?
G.I. Joe from 80s-90s. I still pick them up loose at yard sales and thrift stores, but have nowhere near a complete collection.
What’s something about you that no one would suspect?
I write poetry every day.
Best comic book title right now? X-Force. Hulk is still good. All the Avengers are awesome. Shadowland is rockin.’ I could go on.
What’s your plan for the zombie apocalypse?
I’d team up with my friend and sparring partner Matt, steal a Humvee and raid every gun store we can. We’d need to gather lots of supplies and water, if possible, then head to high ground in a less-populated area. Going underground in a bomb shelter or bunker would work, too, as long as you had some sort of surveillance or radio communications with the outside world.
What’s your dream cross-over event?
I’d like to see Tarantino write or direct a Hulk or Fantastic Four movie.
Thanksgiving is this month. What are you grateful for?
My birthday actually falls on Thanksgiving this year. I am thankful for so many things this year, mostly my good friends, new apartment and new opportunities. Last year was a rough one for me.
Favorite Comic-Con memory?
I was at a restaurant in San Diego and Stan Lee walked in. The whole place started cheering and applauding. It was crazy.
What do you value most in your friends?
Honesty and loyalty.
Action figues: mint on card or rip it open?
Rip it open and enjoy it! I’m a loose figure collector.
What advice or words of wisdom would you give the 16-year-old version of yourself?
Don’t jump into situations out of convienance or because it’s an easy way out. Really think it through.
Superman has Kryptonite. What is your greatest weakness?
Being alone. I’m a social animal, so I like to have people around me.
Why did you want to be a Fanboy of the Month?
My friend Trevor did it, which inspired me to go for it. I enjoy the site and read the Comics Load every week. You still need more Marvel coverage, though.
Bonus Question
Which Star Wars quote best describes your last sexual encounter:
“You’re all clear, kid! Now let’s blow this thing and go home!”
“Look at the *size* of that thing!”
“There is good in him. I’ve felt it.”
“I look forward to completing your training. In time, you will call me master.”
“I thought that hairy beast would be the end of me.”
“Control, control…you must learn control.”
“Put that thing away before you get us all killed!”
Actually, it’s none of the above. It would have to be: “Use the force, Luke.”
