When it was first announced that Mad Men‘s January Jones would be playing Emma Frost in Bryan Singer‘s X-Men: First Class, I was torn. If you’re familiar with her work on Mad Men, you know she’s pretty good at playing an ice princess, with just a hint of crazy mixed in. Who can forget this scene from the first season? But then, having seen Ms. Jones host Saturday Night Live, I’m a little concerned. Hopefully, it’s just comedy that she’s bad at, and her Emma Frost will be the perfect mix of glamour and villainy. However, judging from this shot from the set, she just looks kind of grumpy.
You can see the rest of these shots at INFDaily.com. So, what do you think? The costume is fabulous, but is it enough? And what about the guy standing behind her? Just a crew member on a break? Or her personal Twix holder. At the FBOTU Compound I make the FBOTMs carry my M&Ms. One color per FBOTM. And god help them if they get the colors mixed up. But I’m guessing I’m much more forgiving than Ms. Jones or Ms. Frost. Maybe.
I may be the only one but I LOVE it. I am really pumped for a throwback x-men movie, it has potential to be something great. Although I realize there have been other projects that had a lot of potential but didn’t turn out too well. I guess we’ll have to wait and see.

Doesn’t work for me….I don’t see her as a good Emma Frost. Emma frost is sexy, seductive, and determined. I can’t see her (Emma) wearing that hat and the rest…just doesn’t scream Emma Frost.
That’s not Emma Frost. Where’s the corset? Where’s the thong? Where’s the spread-eagle-in-the-pages-of-Hustler pose? Also, that fur hat is, indeed, ridiculous. But I remain cautiously optimistic. I trust in Matthew Vaughn.
Plus, and I never thought I’d say this, Emma is way too thin. For Xavier’s sake, Ms. Jones: EAT A BURGER.

I dunno. The fur hat is ridiculous, but in kind of an enjoyable way. I do love that they’re going retro with the film though. I remember reading back in the day a rumor that the first Fantastic Four movie would be a period film, and man, what a missed opportunity that was.
I love Mad Men and I love to hate that bitch Betty… i also love to hate that uptight—well it’s a love hate situation—diamond heart, but i digress. this costume is just not working i love the 60s/70s mod fashion as much as the next queen but this is just awful… really a fur hat? C’mon this is just RIDICULOUS
