When a Fanboy of the Month arrives for his photo shoot, I sit him down, explain the whole process, check his ID and have him fill out the paperwork. With September FBOTM Hadrian, I followed all this up with one simple question: “How shy are you?” Hadrian just smiled and shook his head, “Not at all.” At that moment, I knew we were in for a treat. Hadrian was totally on board for whatever we threw at him (including a really big shield). Cool and confident all the way, he posed and followed directions, while also chatting with me about Comic-Con, Daken, cosplay, World of Warcraft and favorite brands of underwear, all without missing a beat. Because I tend to be a teeny, tiny bit neurotic, I can’t help falling for guys who are really confident and self-assured. It’s insanely sexy to me. I was working up the courage to tell him just that, when I unceremoniously stepped on the photographer’s light meter, and an expensive crunching sound woke me from my Hadrian reverie. We can’t all be geeky sexy cool. Some of us have to be content just being geeky.
