Ah, the latest Pro Tools demo reel is finally out!

OK, I like the arrangement.  The production of the song is fantastic.  But it’s Britney.  She can’t sing.  Period.  If someone with more power and conviction in their voice did this, I would be all over it.  Like Christina during her “Dirrty” era.

The video…well, I’m torn.  Britney’s still trying to do the innocent/whore thing.  It’s all in how she looks at the camera and mouths the lyrics.  But she can’t pull it off very well.  The choreography is cool, though, and I do really like the ending.  Like the song, it’s about as subtle as a hammer to the kneecaps, but it’s staged well.

The thing that gets me about this song is that it’s trying to be clever and coy in a way, but it fails horribly.  Yeah, I get the “If You Seek Amy” single entendre, but if they’re going to do that, the choruses should at least make some kind of grammatical sense.  “...are begging to if you seek Amy” makes the English major in me grind his teeth.

I’m about to do another Britney rant.  hehe

Put me in the group that isn’t begging to seek Amy or wanting to F.U.C.K. her.   

While I totally understand what she’s going for, I’m tired of Britney constantly portraying herself in these videos as a weave-flipping, party-going sex Goddess who, seemingly, is a victim of the media and has to put on this wholesome and sweet image for the public.  (an image she herself helped to spin for many years) 

I’m sorry, but she totally has no sense of who she is exactly.  One minute she’s telling everyone in ‘For The Record’ that she did all this stupid stuff, hung out with all the wrong people etc.; the next she’s showing that ‘Amy’ is her ‘true self’ waiting to come out and having wardrobe malfunctions and saying: “my pussy was hanging out” because she accidentally forgot the mic on at the concert.  *yawn*

Don’t get me wrong.  I’m not against artists creating some controversy through their art, but for someone who complained in ‘For the Record’ that the media won’t leave her alone and that she has ‘no privacy’, she sure does poke at that bees nest.

Uh, how about we just enjoy Britney for whom she is and have fun instead of trying to dig too deep into things? The video is cool, it does what it does while having fun and that’s it. Don’t like it, don’t support it, don’t watch it and give love to the people that you enjoy more.

Kinda like that song Relax by frankie goes to hollywood. People didn’t seem to hear the when you wanna CUM part lol. In fact, one of my friends was singing it the other day and he had no clue lol.

If You Seek Amy.  Say it slowly.  It sounds a lot like “F-U-C-K Me.”  So when she’s saying “All the boys and all the girls are begging to if you seek Amy” she’s really saying “All the boys and all the girls are begging to F-U-C-K me.”

Britney has been something of a potty-mouth as of late.  hehe I’ve been following her concert news, and every week it seems like there’s something new that she randomly blurts out to the audience.

First it was:

“OMG, my pussy’s hanging out” (actually this was when she supposedly left her mic on, on accident)

then…

“Bitch”

then…

“We’re gonna rock it out with our cocks out”

Oh and there was “Merry Christmas” somewhere in between as well.
