—-SonyBMG Australia have scheduled a new single from Christina next month (September 19).

—-The new single will be a global release.  (released at the same time)

—-Christina already performed the new single for Target executives for their national sales meeting.  It was a closed-door event.

—-Plans seemed to have changed with the Fashion Rocks performance.  Disappointing.

I’m freaking out.    Christina’s new Inspire perfume commercial/video was just released (it’s 20 seconds, there’s a longer version coming soon) and some folks are saying this beat is gonna be somewhere on the album…

The album is supposedly inspired by Goldfrapp’s Supernature album, so it will probably have a strong electro influence.

Yep, Johnny’s correct.  She also sampled the beat from Ladytron’s ‘Seventeen’ in her newest perfume commercial, which is said to be somewhere on the album.  Then in mid September she’s writing with Sia, who’s bringing along her friend from England to help out.

These are the latest updates—

Apparently there’s going to be a Greatest Hits released with a few new songs on it, along with some remixes of old hits.  This is going to come out before the actual studio album.  While nothing is officially confirmed yet, the first new single that’s coming out soon is said to be on the greatest hits.  There are two tracks so far that are not officially confirmed—‘Dynamite’ and ‘Keep Getting Better’. 

The Greatest Hits is going to transition us into the ‘new era’ / studio album, which some folks are saying will hit beginning of next year.

Christina will be performing the new single soon.  I believe at the VMA’s since her perfume is a sponsor.

It all sounds very promising then. :-D

I don’t remember the last time I heard such a restrained vocal from her.  It’s very refreshing.  Not that I don’t think she’s hands down one of the finest voices in pop music, it’s just nice to see her downplay things every now and again.

The vocals on the 4th studio album are probably going to be restrained for the most part as well.  She’s already got Ladytron and Sia lined-up as collaborators.  Goldfrapp is a strong possibility.  Christina said there are going to be some surprise collaborations.

Some of the confirmed collaborations include:  Ladytron, Sia, Linda Perry, DJ Premier and Christopher “Tricky” Stewart.  Goldfrapp have been mentioned several times, but no definite confirmation yet.

An even more unlikely Ladytron associate is Christina Aguilera, who the band have been collaborating with on her upcoming album. While the initial approach from Aguilera’s people came as “a shock”, it soon became clear the hugely successful pop star was not merely trying to cash in on Ladytron’s indie cool, but was genuinely interested in their back catalogue.

“She was really specific about what elements of our work she wanted to try and harness,” Hunt says. “It wasn’t just the singles or anything. It was specific album tracks and specific sonic layers and things like that”. Four or five songs have already been completed – Hunt describes them as a hybrid between her previous work and Ladytron’s, and the latter have enjoyed the process so much that further such collaborations may well be on the cards.
