I saw the video last night.  I was actually kind of moved.  For a soap opera, it seemed very realistic.

It’s about time. 2 years?! We all know we’d put out in about 2 minutes for either of those hotties (or maybe I’m just easy)

Wait, they really waited 2 years? I know about them but I haven’t been following it, but oh my god! 2 years?! No way! Wow! I would’ve gone bonkers if I had to wait that long.

Didn’t they break up and marry girls during the two years? Or one of them married a girl so she could stay in the country and the other one got shot and paralyzed, then recovered. So it’s been a turbulent two years. Now that they’ve had sex, one of them will get hit by lighting (Skye, All My Children) or supposedly blown up on a yacht, but really kidnapped by the Casidines (Laura, General Hospital) or go over a waterfall in the Amazon and get amnesia (Tina, One Life to Live).

I just watched the clip. It was kind of sweet, but it makes me wonder. Is anyone here out to their grandparents? All of mine died before I really came out to anyone. I can see how it would be awkward if your step-grandfather made a pass at you.

Both Luke and Noah live with Luke’s grandmother.

My whole family knows.  My grandmother even said to me when I came out: “You know your great uncle is gay, too.”

Is this a big deal in american soaps or something? I was kind of expecting to see more.
I guess late night episodes of Hollyoaks have spoiled me

Nice to see the quality of the acting on these american soaps never changes either

It is actually a pretty big deal over here.  Luke and Noah shared the first ever gay male kiss on daytime television.  I believe I read that this was also the first time that a male couple was shown post-coital on a daytime soap.  Luke and Noah are pretty groundbreaking in that they’re playing a romantic gay couple that’s simply part of the storyline and not some kind of one-time stunt.  They’re considered the first gay “supercouple” of soap operas.

We had you beat on that a long time ago. Though Colin and Barry from Eastenders in the eighties may never have been known as a supercouple
John Paul McQueen and Craig Dean from Hollyoaks may have been called that though, people were calling them ‘McDean’

OK, so that may be a milestone for ATWT, but honestly….I’ve not seen a kiss that uncomfortable ever.  And the way they ran off afterwards just looked so awkward…it looked more like they just broke a window playing stick ball than running off to have some mid-morning escapade.  I’m just glad I could get the whole plotline in 12 minutes than wait the probable 2 weeks of build up that comes in “soap-time”.  Oh well, “that’s soap biz”.
