I’m more of a fan of Madonna’s ballads like Oh Father (my all time favorite Madonna song), This Used to Be My Playground, Take a Bow and Rain.  I miss them.  I’m tired of her current phase of music.  The only dance song I really can think of right now that I love is Vogue.  I also like Like a Prayer but don’t know how to classify it, lol.

Of the ones you’ve listed, ‘Like a Prayer’ is my fave.  Makes me feel like jumping up and getting all gospel.  cheese

And with that:

Like A Prayer was the closest thing Madonna’s gotten to rock.  It’s still dance-able, but it’s definitely pop/rock.  I still have a poster of Madonna from the video for “Like A Prayer”.  I had it on my bedroom door as a teeanger, and thank the gods my mother never trashes anything.  It’s five feet tall and has her dancing with the burning crosses.

Coolness.  Was it patchouli scented?  wink

It was not, sadly.  Right now it’s sitting in a closet along with my Paula Abdul posters from the early 90s.

So the estimate range for the first week sales of ‘Hard Candy’ was lowered a bit to between 270,000 and 290,000 units.

290,000 is roughly what Britney’s ‘Blackout’ sold in the first week in the US.

Speaking of Madonna, have you see the Desperately Seeking Susan Minimates at AFX?

Ha!  Look at that.  Those are adorable.  smile

On a bit of a side note, once again Madonna locked lips with another gal.  This time in France.

Boooooring.  Madonna really has to get a new schtick if she’s going to rely on gimmicks to sell this album.  That wasn’t shocking five years ago.  Now, it’s just a little creepy.

I finally listened to it for about 2 weeks at this point.  It’s okay, and I only like about 4 songs on the CD.  Don’t like:  Candy Shop, Give it 2 Me (Get Stupid!  OMG how silly), Heartbeat (see my booty get down like…gimme a break, dont’ care if she’s from Detroit, booty don’t grow on a 50 year old white girl who lives in England!  lol), Miles Away, She’s not Me, Beat Goes On, Spanish Lesson, and Voices.

I like:  4 Minutes, Incredible, Dance 2Night, and Devil Wouldn’t Recognize You.

And in agreement with many here, Like A Prayer was my fave song by here and my fave album to date by Madonna.

4 out of 12 ain’t bad I guess.

Actually, my favorite Madonna song and album would have to be “Ray Of Light.”  I don’t think she’ll ever do anything to surpass that.  “Hard Candy” is in the lower half of the albums I like.  It seems so much more like a sell-out than anything she’s done since her LAST attempt to go “urban” with “Bedtime Stories.”

I saw her live on BBC3 the other night and thought she looked awful..
She’s so muscular its scary. My other half commented ‘She’s got bigger muscles than you’  long face
Now I feel like I need to start using my weights again..

As much as I used to like her, I was glad when he flipped over to another channel LOL

I like it.  There’s a nice energy to it, and I like the videos where Madonna just kind dances around, looks fabulous, and tries to convince us that it’s a spontaneous good time.  However, I’m really getting sick of producers showing up in the videos for all their songs, and Pharrell Williams has way too much screen time, especially in the video’s 2nd half.

Now I know why she was vacuuming a room in tons of jewelry and high heels a month ago.

Damn it!  I was too slow!  I missed it.  It’s been removed due to… blah-blah-blah rights.  I know they’re important, but I wanted to see Madonna.  :(  I can’t make it to her concert this year.  Not having enough $ sucks.
