Because I’m a huge a-ha fan and an even bigger Morton Harket fan, and because I share this information on a near-daily basis, I suppose I shouldn’t be surprised that this viral video has shown up in my email more than a few times now.

So here it is. The Literal Video Version on “Take On Me,” probably the greatest and most iconic music video of all time. And isn’t Morton Harket dreamy? Though the guy who sings the parody lyrics has a pretty good voice, too. Still, he’s no Morton.

And I don’t believe Morton’s character had his own pipe wrench. I believe what we’re seeing is the pursuing mechanics’ pipe wrench being wielded in front of Morton’s face. That’s really my only criticism.

Though now that I’m thinking of wielding a long, thick, turgid pipe wrench in front of Morton’s face, I have to go take a cold shower now.

I always thought the scene of the pipe wrench was Morton about to be beaten, not that he had his own pipe wrench.  That changes the whole narrative drastically if he has his own.  He’s not quite the innocent type anymore.

Oh, for frak’s sake…I’m fan-wanking an A-Ha video.  I blame the dialogue the instrumental break: “You’re gonna get an ass full of pipe wrench!”
