I know the line isn’t easily available in the states (complete reversal from reality for me) but is anyone else collecting them?
I think this has to be the most extensive toyline in british history.
For a line I wasnt expecting to last past a couple of waves there are now figures made of almost all the major players from the show, and more coming all the time (including a build a figure wave - or two - of Classic Who featuring the past doctors and enemies, Sarah Jane adventures and a wave of 4 Torchwood characters in the summer)

Well worth any Doctor Who fans looking into, its a very exciting toyline.

I’ve seen the figures at conventions, and the online retailers like AFX and EE offer them from time to time. That’s how I got my Captain Jack figure that I now sleep with under my pillow. I don’t think I’ve seen everything they’ve put out, though. Is there a good site that shows everything?

http://www.doctorwhotoys.net/ is perhaps the most up to date with coverage as far as I’m aware, though there may be better sites out there.

Im currently working on a custom Ianto for Jack to sleep with under the pillows raspberry

SJS and K-9 still haven’t had a wide release even in the UK :(
I am VERY glad I got mine on amazon as soon as they came out (and got riduculed on a forum for spending £2 more than retail so as not to wait, and boy am I glad I did..

Those figures you mention (GITD Gelth ect) were exclusive to woolworths who were doing them buy one get one free a month or so ago, which had been a good oppertunity to get them ‘cheap’ (although probably still more expensive than figures are in the USA)
The pig guard is ONLY in the manhatten set, which you can get on Amazon for £8 now.

well, a few weeks ago we could have helped you out with the woolworths stuff, but its all back to full price again! :(

Nope, none of the CO figures have had trump cards yet. it seems thats just being done as an incentive for the US market at the moment.
Blue Scarecrows and Screaming Angels are just starting to turn up and theres no cards with them.

Apparently a new Captain Jack is waiting in the wings and we should be getting a first look at that figure very soon, and should be hitting stores in a new ‘mixed’ wave very soon (assumedly with the impossible to get SJS and K-9 among others) So far it sounds like more SJS’s have been found in the states than the UK :D

Im off to TRU tomorrow to check for Scarecrows and Angels. They’re out there, and the local TRU was almost entirely sold out last time I went in so must be due another shipment.

We were supposed to have been seeing the proto’s of atleast the Weevil by now, but still nothing..
Atleast those who saw them at Toy Fair said they look like they’ll fit in seamlessly with CO’s
I wont be convinced til I see them.

The classics line is very exciting. I wish they wouldnt keep delaying it.. first they were supposed to be out February, then April, then May.. now we’re looking at August! damn well better be out by August! but it feels like theres going to be a mountain of merchandise all in one go around that time..

The guy behind the Torchwood figures announced we’ll definately be seeing Tosh and Ianto, but he didn’t mention Owen. He did say ‘Gwen’ twice, so it could have been a typo, and we will see an Owen figure.

Captain John and Blowfish are also in the works, and Bilis Manger is still rumoured smile

I think you’ll be lucky to find them yet. Id imagine if the images were ready to go the makers would have released them properly and theres no mention on the who forums that I can see.

Shouldn’t be long though, the first wave is supposed to be out in the summer afterall.

For a moment there, I thought I did find a pic.  hehe Typed in ‘Cyberwoman’ on Google’s image search and this unpainted Cyberwoman was on the first page results.  It was something else though. —An unpainted clay sculpt.

Are they doing a 12” Torchwood line? A 12” Jack with captain’s coat would be awesome!

I like typing 12” Jack. If I weren’t stuck with my current screen name, I would be tempted to take that one.

cheese

Does the uk have anything like toyfare magazine? They are great at giving first peeks of toys. All this secrecy behind character options is nuts! I believe at action-figure news site they had article about the secrecy of the doctor who line. So anyways have till august to save up for classic wave 1.Well thats when they hit in the uk,so we may not see here as soon.

No, not really. Closest we have is Model collectors mart, but nothing like Toyfare, Tomarts or Lees.. Its just accepted we have to rely on those. Anyone lucky enough to be near enough to a comic shop can get them near enough to their US release dates anyway, and often Lee’s will have sneek peaks of stuff in ‘Action International’ section.

The NDA’s imposed on CO’s products is nothing short of insane… I can’t see showing off some upcoming products being anything but a good thing.. Totally understand keeping season 4 figures under wraps till its aired but anything for classics and seasons 1 to 3.. thats nuts.

There’s more 12” on the way.
No Donna, apparently.. not sure about Jack, but Id think since he’d be able to be undressed, might be frowned upon by some people shut eye
