Any other fans of the dearly departed “Alias” on here? If so, some questions to spur the conversation:

1. Favorite season? Mine: Season 2. Irina Derevko was a seriously awesome character.

2. Favorite character (aside from Syd, of course)? Mine: See above.

3. Favorite episode? Mine: Season 2 finale, “The Telling.”

4. Thoughts re: seasons 3, 4 and 5, each of which saw the show more or less reimagined? My thoughts: Loved season 3 because the addition of Lauren added some drama to the Syd/Vaughn dynamic. Season 4 was good, but I missed the serialized storylines, and some of the standalone plots were silly (vampires, anyone?) Season 5 was good, but Vaughn’s “My name’s not Michael Vaughn” comment was explained too neatly in the season opener, and if he was really in that much danger, shouldn’t his pregnant fiance have been put into hiding, too? They should have had Prophet 5 kidnap him, and finding him—and uncovering who he really was—would have been Syd’s goal for the entire season. There were also lots of missed opportunities and sloppy plotlines in the final season.

In spite of the weaknesses of the last two seasons, I truly loved this show and have yet to find one to take its place.
