Now everyone make sure you vote for Silverhawks and then in the comment section put in Thundarr, Galtarr,Centurions and Pirates of Dark Water….. Okay you don’t have to but hey those are some cool 80s toons that deserve a DVD release.

I don’t think I would buy any of those, to be honest.  I liked “Silverhawks” as a kid, but like “Thundercats”, it has NOT held up well over the years.  “Thundarr” I would probably buy if it was cheap, and ditto for “Dark Water.”  But I have my “Dungeons & Dragons”, my “He-Man”, and my “She-Ra.”  Hell, I even have the first two seasons of “Jem” (I got the box set before Rhino pulled them off the shelves).  I have my 80s ‘toons well-in-hand.

Hell, I even have the first two seasons of “Jem” .

So you think that Jem has done a better job of standing the test of time than Silverhawks? Really?

I mean, really?

I’m not trying to knock either one of them. In fact, I’d say they’re both quite dated. In my eyes, that makes them pretty equally enjoyable.

Then again, maybe you’re referring to something else by ‘held up well’. I’m thinking the ‘timeless’ quality. You maybe thinking something else.

I don’t have as many fond memories of “Silverhawks” as I do “Jem.”  It was “Jem” that inspired me to take up piano lessons, which inspired me to write songs, which eventually led to releasing a full album on iTunes.  “Silverhawks” just inspired me to buy toys and comics.

Ah. So ‘held up well’ was a reference to how memorable they are to you, not an overall statement about timelessness. Okay, I get that. Thanks for clearing it up. smile
