Guy Ritchie vs. King Arthur

Hmmm. This is pure speculation and rumor, but word is that Guy Ritchie is interested in bringing King Arthur back to the big screen. And we’ve already heard that Bryan Singer wants to do a remake of Excalibur. With the success of Sherlock Holmes and with production company Hollywood Gang (300) on Ritchie’s side, he might beat Singer to the punch. Still, I think I’d prefer to see Singer’s take on the subject matter.

Ritchie and Singer would do entirely different films, although I would agree that Singer’s is the one I’d rather see.  I don’t know if I want to see a gritty, strung-out King Arthur.  Well, maybe if there’s a totally obvious bromance between Arthur and Lancelot.  Queen Gwen-i-who?
