Nothing too exciting this year (for me).
She-Ra looks okay, but far too cartoon-esque for my liking. Adora already sticks out like a sore thumb in my MOTUC collection due to the fact her costume design is so dull. And She-Ra’s looks even worse. I wish they’d taken more inspiration from the 200X She-Ra/Paris Hilton figure in terms of the head-dress and costume and that they’d included the designs on She-Ra’s arm bands and boots which are on the “classic” toy. Also disappointed by the gold sword. The “bio” states that Adora/She-Ra has a “clone” of He-Man’s sword, yet its a completely different design. I wanted them to have identical swords (design, size, colour) except for the addition of a “jewel” in Adora’s sword.
McFarlane disappointed by including “action features” on their 6” Jake Gyllenhaal, I mean “Prince Dastan”. Not to mention the ugly looking “static” pose the figures are in. I don’t want a Jake Gyllenhall stuck looking like “The Flash”. If I collected 3.75” figures I’d have a much better selection, but being a size queen it is 6” or bigger for me (with the exception of Dr Who, in which case I reluctantly accepted 5” figures).
NECA’s new Terminator figures are cool. Definitely want their new battle-damaged T-800/Arnold and T-1000/Patrick. I need some terminators to go with the Sarah Connor I found cheap in Japan.
Hopefully SDCC will have some cooler reveals.
