I’d read Global Frequency when it first came out, but received graphic novels #s 1 & 2 for Xmas. The artwork is VERY uneven over the course of the compiled issues due to different artists shuffling through, but I have to say the concept is really well executed by Warren Ellis’ writing. Superb stuff. If you haven’t tried it, I highly recommend it.
High level description: Single-issue sci-fi (no capes) stories. Global Frequency is an secret organization headed by a former intelligence agent who uses the alias of Miranda Zero. There are reportedly 1,001 people on the Global Frequency, forming an active smart mob communicating by specially modified video mobile phones through a central dispatch system coordinated by a young woman code-named Aleph. (mostly taken from Wikipedia - a pretty good descrip).
