I always thought they got along. Then again, who knows how reliable Hollywood news wires are. This is from WENN news:

—-
George Takei is considering healing his rift with former Star Trek co-star William Shatner and inviting him to his forthcoming gay wedding.

The pair fell out while the show was being made; with Takei - who played Sulu - complaining about Shatner’s ego and his insistence on regular close-ups on his character Captain Kirk.

But Takei’s soon-to-be husband Brad Altman hints a reconciliation could be on the cards - because they are not ruling out inviting Shatner to their September wedding.

He says, “We have only 200 seats. Our contact list has, like, 3500 names, so we have to whittle it down. I don’t know if William Shatner is going to make the cut.”
—-

“You’re not invited to my gay wedding” should be on a t-shirt. I will get to work on that.

Shatner has had a reputation among his co-stars of being…gee, how should I put this…an arrogant gasbag.  I know George Takei has never been shy in talking about it, and I’m pretty sure I heard similar stories from Nichelle Nichols.  Based on the fit Shatner threw when he found out Leonard Nimoy was getting a cameo in the new Star Trek film and he wasn’t, I tend to believe the stories.

I remember George being on an interveiw on GMTV back when I was at school all those years ago!! really making it clear he and Bill didn’t really get on. He made a very big deal out of the fact that if any of the cast had any decent lines, Bill would have to have them.. ‘because if it didn’t come from him, it wasn’t drama’

Have to admit, the interview with George rather soured me against old Kirk and I felt really sorry for old Sulu..

I’ve never really liked Shatner.  You can tell he’s a pompous douche.

I think george and nichelle are close she was on that talent show supporting him singing country.I remember that shatner knew nichelle was coming out with book with the truth about her affair with roddenbery, apparently she confided with shatner so what does he do?he adds it to his own book that comes out first! That is a bastard,I could see him killing his wife<I know thats terrible to say,but thats what came to mind when she was found floating>

Ummm…what?  He scooped Nichelle Nichols on an affair and that makes him capable of murder?  I must be missing something here.
