Welcome, Hardbody! I hope you know this means you’re going to have to take part in the inevitable Dante’s Cove podcast.

So Van gets all the power of the Libra Solstice and then gets washed away by the tsunami? I thought for sure she’d be the new queen witch of the town. I do love Tracy Scoggins and her crazy accent. It’s nice that she’s letting all the gay and lesbian couples in town stay at her place.

I have the first season DVD, but haven’t listened to any commentaries. I’ll do that. The rest of the series I’ve been catching on the OnDemand service on cable.

It’s so terrible...and I can’t stop watching.

Just watched another couple of episodes of the Cove. Sweet baby Jebus, it’s bad. But that didn’t stop me from watching and even pausing and slo-moing at some parts. grin

I now realize that Reichen couldn’t convincingly tell someone his own name, let alone act. He should be in a John Waters movie. I will say this in favor of the show, the whole Kevin/Toby/Bro/Adam quadrangle (square?) is surprisingly unpredictable. SPOILER! I love when stupid Kevin came back and said, “I’m free! Let’s get back together!” and Toby was all “That’s okay. I’m doing Adam now.”

I’m about to start watching my very first episode of The Lair. I don’t care if there are vampires, if Colton Ford is the sheriff, I’m moving to that town. So is the Lair in The Lair the same Lair as in Dante’s Cove? Or do they just share the same set/red curtains?

Ah...The Lair. If you thought the acting and story lines in Dante’s Cove were bad....wait to you see the spin-off. It’s TERRIBLE, but as with the parent show, I can’t get enough.

The two are tangently related. One of the main characters in The Lair shows up in season 3 of Dante’s as the manager of the Cove’s sex club Lair. It’s a job he doesn’t have at the end of season 1 and doesn’t make much sense, although season 2 is about to air and it may have been a little foreshadowing. It’s never stated that the show takes place in the Cove, but Tresum is mentioned.

There are only 1 or 2 guys I actually find attractive and these actors don’t seem to have the fun or sense of humor as the Dante’s cast. I think most of them think they are turning in top rate serious performances, and not relishing in the campy aspect that the Dante’s crew understands.

Oh boy. I just watched the finale. Thea Gill deserves some sort of...well, not an award exactly...but something. You always want your villain to stumble slowly down the hill, muttering in an inexplicable German accent, toward the big climactic battle. Very, very slowly. And once again Reichen proved his only convincing contribution to drama is his ass.

Do you think that Bro had something to do with imprisoning Toby and Adam in the mirror? Or is that just where the beautiful people of Dante’s Cove end up when they die, as some sort of heaven for the vain?

And I still love Kevin and Bro together. It’s a nice message, really. If you stalk someone and obsess over him long enough, maybe even imprison him for a while, he will fall in love with you.

I know I criticize this show, but I will watch every episode they ever make, forever.

I’ve caught up with The Lair, I think. You know you’re in trouble when Colton Ford is the best actor in the ensemble. Ian’s werewolf costume/makeup is right out of a 1950s B-movie. It’s too, too funny. But he wakes up naked at the beginning of every episode, so all is forgiven. Dylan Vox (aka Brad Benton) is also a scream as the swishy leader of the vampires. I can’t wait for the season finale!

i love Dante’s Cove, even though it’s horrible acting and everything.... if the hard, hot, sexy bodies didn’t do it for me (which, they do!) then the music would! There’s this song in the first episode of the first season that i want so bad, but cannot find. it drives me crazy!

Yeah I like them because they are so trashy, and Hot naked guys grin

I like the fact they are only a few episodes.  That way I can just relax on the couch in my pjs and enjoy the cheese coming off the screen with a glass of wine.

grin

As I don’t have HERE!, I just have to netflix them.

There are three seasons currently out on DVD, just go to your local Barnes and Noble (or some place like that) to pick them up.

These are great!  I have all three seasons and can’t get enough.  Tracy Scoggins is flawless, she gives me funny feelings downstairs about girls.  smile Cougar-tastic!
