Are there any other geeks in LA, LA County or SGV area?

just seeing if there’s anyone around and what not gets kind of boring and not enough gay geeks around as far as i know. Maybe we could all meet up and hang out etc see the latest geek flick. i just got into geocaching and me and a friend, not a gay but somewhat geeky, are coming up with a cool treasure hunt game involving teams.

just putting it out there.

Planning a meet-up will just take a little initiative. Set a date to meet at the Arclight for a movie. Meet an hour before in the cafe/coffee bar to meet and say hi. Go to the movie, then hang out after and discuss.

The problem is that in L.A. it’s very hard to get people to show up for anything. People love to make plans, but aren’t so interested in seeing them through. Social events are very competitive and there’s always a better offer.

VERY true and to be honest my gay LA consists of bars and drunken shenanigans… but the arclight suggestion sounds interesting i’ve always wanted to go to that place.

@Wonder_boy - it’s just a joke that there’s quite a few gay geeks in the LA area except as the earlier responses go but they eventually die down and nobody really gets the ball rolling. I’m just as guilty though my classes have REALLY been womping my ass… anyone interested in a meet up? especially this weekend

I live in West Hollywood and would be so down to meet other fanboy geeks…. an Archilight meeting sounds cool…or maybe even a trip to Golden Apple.

I was just AT Golden Apple! i love that place it’s awesome!

(Geeks in Whittier is too, which is closer to me, but no longer has recent issues and is 30 mins from LA…)

anyways both ideas are great also right next to Golden Apple is an often geek friendly gallery Gallery 1988! Kevin Smith hosts the art exhibit “Crazy 4 Cult” which is always awesome!

We should all organize a fanboy meet up sometime.  I’m sure this would be more like the dating pool we’d want to be in as opposed to being crammed in the Abbey.

Very true!... the abbey does have great drinks though but i agree with you either way!

Hi guys!  New to the site and live in L.A. as well…actually apartment sitting within walking distance of the Arclight!  Anyone game for a movie meet-up sometime sometime soon?  I’m dying to see Imaginarium of Doctor Parnassus…or even Avatar 3D again!

i think Imaginarium of Doctor Parnassus would be GREAT to go see or Sherlocke Holmes if no one else has seen that yet. That Avatar thing looks gawd awful i mean it was great when it was called Dances With Wolves but not so much now cause despite what James Cameron things blue Reptilian Humanoid Cats are not fuckable… and it just looks lame
