I am always on the look out for high energy, catchy (electronic and/or dance) music to get my heart going while I’m doing cardio at the gym.  Also something strong and thumpy(Alternative music works best for me) while I’m doing weights.  Who is willing to share their playlists with me?

Also, what do you name your playlists?  I sometimes try to get creative and think of something that makes me get up and go.  I don’t have my iPod with me, but off the top of my head, I remember some of my playlists are named:

“Nice Day to Get Screwed”
The first two songs are “Nice Day” by Persephone’s Bee’s (Remix) and “Screwed” by Paris Hilton
“Daddy Bear’s Music Box”
  Music for my boyfriend…
“Crazy Legs”
Music for doing cardio and leg workout.

Putting together a good playlist is hardwork, so I appreciate any input you all might have.

I have dozens of playlists on my iTunes labeled “i[name]”,  most of which consist of 2-3 hours of the “Best of” tracks by that artist.  “iEnigma”, “iMitsou”, “iGeri”, etc.

I’m actually working on a bunch of dance and club playlists that I plan on mixing continuously and burning down to CD.  I’m not sure what to call them yet.  The last time I did something like that, I made five discs of music, and each one was given a theme that was inspired by an old line of natural sodas called “Go-Go.”  Each flavor had an anime go-go girl on the can.  So the mixes were Bliss, Kombat, Express, Frenzy, and the last one I forget.

When a friend needed mix CDs for a cyberpunk party, I named them after tropes from that genre: Dystopia, Metropolis, Automata, etc.

For my next mixes, I’m considering naming them after natural elements (Fire, Ice, Wind, Sun) or the signs of the zodiac.  Or perhaps something else entirely.

Here’s a few songs I like.  The songs I have on my MP3 player are so random I’ll refrain from sharing the whole list.

Move Along - All American Rejects
Fascination - Alphabeat
Los Angeles -  The Sugarcult
Machinehead - Bush
Volcano Girls - Veruca Salt

Me, I like hard, angry music when I work out. The more guitars you can throw at it and the more emotional it sounds, the better. Not heavy metal sort of stuff- not a fan of most of that regardless of the activity I’m doing it to.

As an indication of what I mean, the current workout playlist includes Drowning Pool, Linkin Park, Finger Eleven, The Killers, Offspring, and a load of assorted similar groups/songs.
