Anybody on here pick up DCUO today? There are only a handful of servers so far, but I’ve started characters on “Zero Hour” and “Virtue and Vice” (all the server names are based on events/story arcs).

I had played in the Beta for a good chunk of the fall, but backed away when Cataclysm came out. I have to say that I’m impressed with the changes they made in that time period and the game was very stable when I played it today.

“Fable III” allows gay marriage and adoption

The upcoming release of Fable III will not only feature same-sex relationship and marriage (as the previous game in the series did) but will also allow same-sex characters to adopt children. To quote the article:

“We don’t require you to be of a certain type to get married,” said Peter Molyneux, creative director at Microsoft Game Studios Europe. “You can be gay. You can be bisexual. You can get married as many times as you like. It’s up to you. My fascination is with what that means to people. It means they can be who they are rather than who I require them to be.”

This isn’t the first time gay marriage has been in a video game. Fallout 2 in 1998 allowed gay marriage, and a patch for Baldur’s Gate II allowed a male main character to have a romance with a male NPC. Dragon Age also allowed same-sex relationships, and of course there’s The Sims, whose treatment of same-sex relationships has evolved with each incarnation of the game.

It’s amazing how games are sometimes more progressive than flesh-and-blood human societies. For all the talk of games being a juvenile thing, their take on relationships and sexuality can be very mature (even if the gamers are not, as countless World of Warcraft players can probably attest). Still, gay gaming is relatively new and unexplored field. It’s surprising to me how many gay men I’ve met who recoil at the mere though of playing video games or who don’t like to talk about it because it’s not part of what makes a “typical” gay man.

I’m glad at least some people are beginning to realize that gays play games, too.

BioWare tells “Straight Male Gamer” to get over himself

Apparently, someone doesn’t like the romance options in BioWare’s Dragon Age games, where any gender can romance any gender and vice versa. Someone calling himself “Straight Male Gamer” got his undies in a bunch because he felt like BioWare was catering too much to female and gay gamers, who apparently aren’t real gamers anyway because they play things like Sims 3. Frankly, I was surprised that he was able to lift his knuckles off the ground long enough to type anything.

BioWare’s response: get the hell over yourself you homophobic, misogynistic moron. Except in a much more eloquent, professional fashion. Major props to BioWare for looking out for the gay gamer. To quote BioWare’s David Gaider: “And the person who says that the only way to please them is to restrict options for others is, if you ask me, the one who deserves it least.”

Dragon Age 2 comes out March 8

So who’s excited to play dragon age 2. I’ve been looking forward to this one along with Mass Effect 3 which is expected to come out the end of this year (we’ll see). I hope that this one doesn’t let me down like Fable 3 did.

If your wondering, the main character doe’s indeed look like the one in the trailer. For which, I am delighted. This will probably be the first game where I will play as the default character(didn’t really care for default Shepard). From what I’ve read about the game I am very much exited about the changes to gameplay and art style. I like the look scruffy look of the main character and the female option isn’t too hard on the eyes either. I understand that there are going to be more same sex romantic opportunities. And I hope that cool staff-sword thing is going to be in the game.

Ok as i major Fan of the game i most say i really don’t like the movies there Good movie don’t get me wrong but they just killed it in my eyes i mean there at least 20000 people in Raccoon city they could have made it about how some City goers made it out or you know saw how it really happen but i cant rant on and on but there nothing little ol’ me can do yeah

but in the game i love for the seer horror i like silent Hill but resident evil for some reason make me jump so many times lost count ha ha something about zombies Freak me the heck out i have played all of them but Zero i wanna play it but i can’t had copy in the local gamestop…....4/5 was not as scary as 123 but man oh man 4 had it’s times and resident evil 5 has not in nigthmares which give me a nightmare once i love the monster in that mini can (plus chris redfield ahhh)um ha ha anyways one of the most reason i love horror games is the monsters so far my fav monster in resident evil is he Yawn aka the big Snake Jill has to face in RE1 i love that monster for the fact that when i 1st saw it i yelled like i little school girl i gotta learn not to ramble
