So far I am following the new superman and batman comics and I am liking then anyone else the new 52?

DC going digital and staring over at #1

So, if you haven’t heard DC is going “day and date” and will be offering digital versions of all their comics at the same price.

They are so excited on this being a new chapter for DC that all 52 titles will begin at #1. I guess the idea being it’s hard to market Action comics #908 or something as your new Superman download.

A bunch of characters are getting de-aged and new costumes (by Jim Lee) although not all continuity is thrown out the window.

The books selling well- Batman and Green Lantern will remain mostly unchanged but others like JLA will start by telling a new story of the formation of the team.

On the one hand its going to hit comic book sores, on the other hand most magazines are going digital and the comic industry is dying already. Do you try to save the shops or save yourself?

And it sounds good for minority characters- Batwoman #1 will finally come and now as part of the big new push.Mr Terrific is also getting a title at a predominantly white company.
I wonder how much digital will get a start from minorities who aren’t catered to in their cities?

Although I"m one of the late, if never, adopters who will continue to buy print just cause I like the feel. I wonder what the stats are on e-readers and usage for such a thing? Will it draw comic fans away, or are we talking about appealing to new people outside the comic book shop?

I just started watching the BBC series “Misfits” on Hulu. Fun stuff about a bunch of juvies who are struck by lightning and develop super powers. Anyone else into it? I believe season 3 is airing now (with new eps posted to Hulu on Monday mornings), but I’m only on the first season. I’m planning on dressing up as Magneto, Superboy, Brianic 5, the Shade, the Riddler, and a Manhunter.

I am heading to HeroesCon 2012 in Charlotte, NC this year and was hoping I could meet up with some people there. I’m a big DC fanboy with some love for indy and Marvel.. and I’m rather opinionated just fyi lol. I also dig Doctor Who and Anime (too many to list here lol). Anyhow, just looking to talk to some people early so we can get to know each other before meeting up and it being weird.

So I noticed there’s been no talking about Torchwood Miracle Day other than their poorly executed viral campaign. Seriously it was REALLY bad. Either way I’m highly suggesting people catch up because it is getting really good. I know for some the whole Children-of-Earth-killing-his-grandson kind of ruined the series for them and this doesn’t really redeem him but the latest mini-series is much better than previously expected.

I’ll admit it’s not your grandmother’s Torchwood or to be more exact it’s not OG Torchwood but it’s still good stuff and if anything it’s getting there especially with the latest episode. It’s gotten a little bogged down and has quite a few stray hairs here and there but what show doesn’t?

And if that doesn’t get you interested so far there’s been two incredibly hot gay sex scenes with none other than MR John Barrowman… and it’s GOOD...
