I know it’s not a F/SF/Comic/Anime Convention, but I know I can’t be the only geek who’ll be at the Bingham Cup - the world championship of Gay and inclusive rugby teams - either as a participant or as a spectator, this coming June 1, 2, 3.

How about a Fanboy of the Universe meetup?

I just started watching the BBC series “Misfits” on Hulu. Fun stuff about a bunch of juvies who are struck by lightning and develop super powers. Anyone else into it? I believe season 3 is airing now (with new eps posted to Hulu on Monday mornings), but I’m only on the first season. Texting at the Movies: Yes or No

Theater owners are discussing the possibility of allowing texting during movies, to help attract younger movie goers. It’s just an idea at the moment. You can read about the controversy here.

What do you think? Does texting bother you? Or do you wish you could text during a movie without fear of being reprimanded?

Anyone catch the premiere of Young Justice?

I liked the updated anime style, and was at first wondering why they made Aqualad black? But after watching him I think he’s kinda hot! (I probably never thought that in a hundred years I’d ever say that!)

Which begs the question; What are your feelings on changing a characters race? They’ve done it with Nick Fury and now Aqualad (but then again, he is Atlantean(?), and do they even have a delineation when it comes to race/color? Like is there an “asian-looking” Atlantean?, they are a different race after all.)

I’ve never been a huge fan of either, so I personally don’t mind. But I know I would be pissed if all of a sudden they made Storm caucasian.

Looking forward to the next episode!

Dark Ink Art just offered a limited run of this print by James V Carroll. I managed to score one! I didn’t get either of the variants, though, just the main poster. The variants sold out almost immediately. I’m going to put it in my kitchen, I think.

Hi folks! I get a lot of requests to help promote various projects and charities here on FBOTU. After much thought about how to help as many people as possible, I decided to create this space in the Forums for people to tell readers what they’re working on or working for.

So, whether you’re working on a comic and need feedback, trying to raise awareness for a charitable organization, or raising funds for your Kickstarter campaign, this is where you can post and let us know all about it. You can post images, links or whatever you need to tell your story and get people excited.

To help keep things organized, I ask the following:

1. Please refrain from multiple posts. If you want to bump an existing post, that’s fine, but please keep your project contained to one post.
2. We want to be encouraging and helpful. So, if you are not interested in a particular project, there’s no need to announce that fact. Just move along to the next. Constructive criticism and suggestions for expanding the OP’s reach are fine, but please keep it constructive.

Transformers Prime Toys

Hey Guys!

Just wondering if there is anyone else out there in love with the new transformers prime figs?

I love the show and i was worried toys weren’t getting made! so glad they did. I do prefer the First Edition figures (good lord the money i padi to get those… but so worth it!) over the robots in disguise ones. The RiD figs are nice though, but the transformations and details on the FE ones are just amazing, little transforming works of art!

I will say that i am totally addicted to the cyberverse figs too! normally i’m not into them, but i like that they are making the whole cast at the scale and they still look really nice!
