I just started watching the BBC series “Misfits” on Hulu. Fun stuff about a bunch of juvies who are struck by lightning and develop super powers. Anyone else into it? I believe season 3 is airing now (with new eps posted to Hulu on Monday mornings), but I’m only on the first season. Here’s a trailer: http://www.dailymotion.com/video/xc0e4j_misfits-trailer_shortfilms

So I noticed there’s been no talking about Torchwood Miracle Day other than their poorly executed viral campaign. Seriously it was REALLY bad. Either way I’m highly suggesting people catch up because it is getting really good. I know for some the whole Children-of-Earth-killing-his-grandson kind of ruined the series for them and this doesn’t really redeem him but the latest mini-series is much better than previously expected.

I’ll admit it’s not your grandmother’s Torchwood or to be more exact it’s not OG Torchwood but it’s still good stuff and if anything it’s getting there especially with the latest episode. It’s gotten a little bogged down and has quite a few stray hairs here and there but what show doesn’t?

And if that doesn’t get you interested so far there’s been two incredibly hot gay sex scenes with none other than MR John Barrowman… and it’s GOOD...

*I’m not gonna put up any spoilers… YET but once there’s more comments or the regular non satellite airing premieres i’ll spoil the hell out of this*

So the first episode of the new season has just ended and I have on word to describe it… AMAZING! I loved it so so so good! I’m glad they finally hit the nail on the head at the end of the episode, and its cliffhanger yes it’s a two parter, because the hint at the beginning was just TOO obvious.

In the end though loved every bit of it loved River, Rory the lot of them… though i am curious about Mark Sheppards character… again once it’s fair to do spoilers i’ll say more.

So what’s the rest of the FBOTU thoughts on the first episode back? anyone else loving it? did anyone hate it? can you also not believe Alex Kingston looks so fresh and young?

‘Batman: Year One’ Lines Up Voice Cast, Sets Comic-Con Premiere

http://www.hollywoodreporter.com/heat-vision/batman-year-one-first-look-180008

Bryan Cranston, Ben McKenzie, Eliza Dushku and Katee Sackhoff have been tapped to star as the voices in Batman: Year One, the adaptation of the Frank Miller comic book classic from Warner Premiere, DC Entertainment and Warner Bros. Animation.

Lauren Montgomery and Sam Liu are directing the movie, the 12th entry in the successful series of DC universe animated originals. Tab Murphy wrote the script.

The feature adapts the landmark four-issue story written by Miller and drawn by David Mazzucchelli that first appeared in 1987 on the heels of Miller’s seminal work, Batman: The Dark Knight Returns. Those tomes, along with The Watchmen, helped elevate the comics medium, changing the public’s perception of the art form and influencing Hollywood writers and artists to this day.

In Year One, a young Bruce Wayne is first starting out as a costumed vigilante. He creates an early bond with Lieutenant James Gordon, whose importance in the tale makes it as much as Gordon’s story as Wayne’s.

Cranston is playing Gordon, while McKenzie is Wayne/Batman. Dushku voices Catwoman, while Sackhoff is Detective Sarah Essen, a Gordon love interest.

Additionally, Alex Rocco lends his pipes as crime lord Carmine Falcone.

As one of the holy grails in comic books, Year One will be closely scrutinized for faithfulness, but superhero animation veteran Bruce Timm, who is exec producing, says there is very little in the movie that isn’t in the comic.

“The source material is surprisingly cinematic; it’s a pretty straight forward literal retelling,” he says. “Mazzucchelli’s artwork is beautifully composed and we were able to refer to the comic for about 80 percent of the camera setups.”

Batman: Year One, which will be rated PG-13, is scheduled to be released on home video in the fall but will world premiere in July at Comic-Con.

Has anyone read the books? I watched the preview and it all looks very complex. But if I can keep up with the names and allegiances on Rome, I figure I can figure out anything.

I realize that just jared and its source are just blogs regurgitating entertainment news from each other but it’s an interesting possibility. I mean David E. Kelley knows his successful well written tv shows during its existence i happened to have liked both The Practice and its spin-off Boston Legal. However the idea of another of my favorite DC superheroes becoming a whiny melodramatic character makes me chaffe.
